The owner of a shop selling LEDs and accessory products wanted an e-shop designed with specifics of its products in mind. He already had a simple e-shop that had been created quickly, when he first started internet sales, but it needed to expand its capabilities. “Is it possible to make a new online store that sells a larger quantity of goods, has a fine search capability, and is optimized for search engines? It is essential to retain the current integration of the existing database and the accounting backend.”
After examining the existing solution, we determined that it was necessary to rebuild the customer’s current site completely, as it was poorly designed using obsolete technologies.
The main goal was to save the structure of the current database, as it was integrated with the accounting system, and to prevent data loss. Our company has its own engine for online stores that could be flexibly adjusted to the existing database structure.
We created a featured filter system to search for products according to different parameters (color, power, light flow, etc.)
The customer wanted his e-store to be indexed by search engines with supreme effectiveness. For that purpose, a designated page was generated for each item, which had the item name in the URL.
This project involved many technically demanding solutions; for example, when you choose the color, the URL changed without reloading the page, which is very comfortable for the user, while for the search robot, the user visited several pages, and depth of browsing grew.
Some products are sold many-fold, so it was necessary to perform associated calculations, filtering, and other actions with that in mind.
“1-Click” ordering was implemented.
